What are Vision Itinerant Services?
Vision Itinerant Services provide specialized support for students with visual impairments in their school environment. A Vision Itinerant Teacher (VI Teacher) is a credentialed specialist who travels between school sites to provide direct instruction and consultation services for students with visual impairments. VI Teachers work with students on the Expanded Core Curriculum for students with visual impairments — including braille literacy, assistive technology, independent living skills, and sensory efficiency skills. They also consult with classroom teachers, provide environmental modifications, and ensure students have access to appropriate materials in accessible formats. STS Vision Itinerant services are available at school sites across Southern California.
Every student deserves full access to their educational environment.
